Professor Selçuk Çolakoğlu is the Founding Director of the Turkish Center for Asia-Pacific Studies (APAC). He also is a faculty member of the Globalisation and Development Programme at Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (UIC) in Zhuhai, China. He recently worked as a faculty member at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul, South Korea. He served as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, the Chair of the Department of International Relations, and the Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences at Adnan Menderes University. He also taught at Ankara University, the Middle East Technical University, Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Pamukkale University, and the Izmir University of Economics. Dr. Çolakoğlu was a visiting research fellow at the Korea Foundation in Seoul, The Near East and South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Research at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) in Sejong. He was an advisor for the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and Vice-President of the International Strategic Research Organization (USAK).
